Collection: Solar Wind


The aurora forms when charged particles from the Sun — primarily electrons carried by the solar wind — travel across space and interact with Earth’s magnetic field. Earth’s magnetosphere channels these particles toward the polar regions, where they collide with atoms in the upper atmosphere, especially oxygen. When these atoms return to lower energy states, they emit light, often producing a vivid green glow. The same Sun that provides warmth and daylight also sends invisible streams of charged particles through space. Philosophical parallel: Even when the sun goes down, good intentions, good energy, a good spirit, and goodwill can reach through the darkness.
